3. Created before Creation

We have established that Jesus created the angels, and with that we proved that there was a lot going on in the Kingdom of Heaven before the Creation of the World. You’ve learned that angels had already been created (by Christ our Lord) by the time Jesus had started God's project of making the World. Here’s the passage that proves it:
[God asks Job] Where were you when I laid the Earth’s foundation?… who laid its cornerstone—while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God [angels] shouted for joy (Job 38:4, 6-7)?

Job didn’t know what we know now: Jesus was the one who laid the cornerstone of the Earth. Notice the dynamic of this passage: God was attempting to press Job into reflecting about the role of someone else, other than himself, in Creation.
If the answer to God’s question 'who laid its cornerstone' were a simple: “You laid the foundation, oh God,” then Job would have had it too easy. But God was not asking Job an easy question! God was asking Job a very hard question. Job was perplexed, but we're not. It’s not a hard question for us to whom the Son of God has been revealed.
God was trying to help Job to see how little Job knew. The answer to God’s question had not yet been revealed at the time of Job, which is what made it such a hard question. And why had the answer not yet been revealed? Because the Messiah had not yet been born. The first Christmas had not occurred.
... the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy (Job 38:6-7).
Since when do stars sing? They don't. But angels do. Sons of God is a term Job uses for angels three times. He used sons of God the way Moses used it in Genesis when Moses spoke of fallen angels who procreated with human women. The Biblical authors' use of the term sons of God makes it clear that Job was speaking of the activity of angels at Creation.
... there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them... Again, there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them to present himself... (1:6; 2:1; NASB)
... the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose... The Nephilim were on the Earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them (Genesis 6:2, 4; NASB).
And what of the term stars? Angels are those stars, just like angels are also called stars in the Book of Revelation (1:16, 20; 2:1; 3:1; 9:1)--even fallen angels (12:4) are called stars!

So we have discovered that Jesus created the angels. In addition, the Job 38 passage proves that the angels—as witnesses of the Creation—must have already been created before the Creation. We can safely conclude that Jesus was in the business of creating angels before he made the Universe!
Isn’t this fascinating? You have just familiarized yourself with one of Jesus’ activities in the Days of Eternity. His goings forth included creating angels (which surely was no menial task).
Imagine There’s a Heaven
John Lennon and the Beatles were famous musicians, but did their lyrics glorify God? One of Lennon’s most famous songs--Imagine--encourages people to “Imagine there’s no Heaven.” He says, “It’s easy if you try.” We would encourage you instead to imagine Heaven. It's not easy, but you should try. What is the Kingdom of Heaven like? What was it like before this World was created?
We've already established that the angels were made by Jesus prior to the 6-day creation events of Genesis 1-2, so we can interpolate and get a clearer image of what things were like before Creation. Even though the Bible doesn’t describe it, whatever else was in the pre-Creation Kingdom of God at that time must have been glorious. No doubt there were all different kinds of angels (cherubim, seraphim, archangels, guardians, etc.) flying and scuttling around, serving God and doing his will. And the angels also served Jesus because--as we have seen--he was their Creator!
Whatever things were like, they must have been mind-bogglingly beautiful. They must have been supernaturally stupendous. But the essential truth of which we need to be conscious when we think of the Kingdom of God prior to the Creation of the current World is God loved Jesus. That must be your supreme revelation of what was happening during the Days of Eternity.

God loved Jesus, and gave him glory. If you know that much about what was going on before Creation, you know enough! Because it means that you know God—the God who loves us the same way he loved Jesus. Yes, God loves us so much that he will give us glory too.
God loves us just as he has loved Jesus. The love that God has for Jesus, his glory-giving love, is the love that Jesus worked so hard to have God put in us. Jesus said that he made God known to us so that the love that God has for Jesus may be in us! Take it.
… the World will know that you sent me and have loved them [the disciples] even as you have loved me... Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the Creation of the World…
the World does not know you… I have made you known to them [the disciples], and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them (John 17:23-26).
Great job sir
