Hints That the Last Times Are Close

What clues do we have that the Last Times may begin in 2027-2028? If you want to understand the events that clue us into the Last Times, what are they? If you could view the hints on a timeline, would that help?

Yes, visualizing the 'signs of the times' on a timeline should help, so we have posted a timeline for you. We hope it will prepare you for the challenges we will face as the Lord's coming approaches.

You have a right to hear about the warnings God gives us in his Word. Those warnings are clues that the Last Times are close. If you've seen them in the Bible, you have a duty to interpret them well.

Jesus rebuked people who understood the weather, but who refused to examine the prophetic signs they were witnessing. We hope you won't fall into the same category. Jesus warned:

When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’

You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times (Matthew 16:2-3; NIV).

Here are 20 of those signs:

  1. The Creation of the Universe took place around 6,000 years ago.

  2. God has determined seven 1000-year epochs for the World, the final one being the Millennium.

  3. Jeremiah correctly prophesied 70-years from the destruction of Solomon's Temple to its rebuilding, proving the significance of the Temple in Bible prophecy.

  4. Daniel uttered the 70 "Weeks" (7s) Prophecy, and 69 of the 7s have already taken place. Only the 70th week remains to be fulfilled. We call it Daniel's 70th Week.

  5. The Second Temple Construction marked World history.

  6. The Third Temple was completed right before the birth of Christ

  7. A Jubilee is a 50-year period. Thus 120 Jubilees are fulfilled in 6,000 years!

  8. The Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus took place almost 2,000 years ago. For God, that's the equivalent of "Two Days."

  9. The Conversion of the Gentiles brought about a new age: the Age of the Gentiles.

  10. Romans sieged and burned Jerusalem in 70AD -- and the Temple was Destroyed

  11. At the Council of Nicea the Church produced her last statement of sound doctrine.

  12. There was a pronounced Deterioration of Doctrine during the Middle Ages.

  13. Islam, the great rival to Judaism and Christianity was born in 632 AD in Arabia.

  14. The Industrial Revolution brought about great advances in technology.

  15. Daniel's prophecy that travel and science will increase is being fulfilled now.

  16. WWI and WWII prove to humanity that war on a global scale is possible.

  17. The U.S. in its war against terrorists has fulfilled the prophecy of the Pruning of the Branches.

  18. Israel was established in May 1948, forming the political entity with which the Antichrist will establish his agreement at the first Seal.

  19. Great strides towards World peace have caused the popular cry to be "Peace and Safety," but it's all a mirage.

  20. Global Persecution of Christians has been on the increase, and even in Australia, Europe, and the United States, where it's reportedly "low," the Christians who live in those places know how hard it is.

Be Ready

Jesus told us to pray that we would be ready for his Return.

Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole Earth.

Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man (Luke 21:32-36).

In addition, Jesus warned us that we needed to discern when the spiritual 'summer is near.' In other words, we're supposed to know when things are "heating up."

Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door (Matthew 24:32-33).
